Edward G. Fey, Ph.D. Managing Partner

Dr. Fey is one of the founders of Biomodels, and provides expertise in the areas of intellectual property and study design and evaluation. Dr. Fey was one of the scientific founders of Matritech, Inc., a publicly-traded, cancer diagnostic company. Prior to co-founding Biomodels, Dr. Fey also worked for Brigham and Women's Hospital in the Office of Technology Transfer, assisting researchers in the area of sponsored research and licensing.

Dr. Fey received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University College London, England and completed his Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the Department of Biology.

Stephen T. Sonis, D.M.D., D.M.Sc. Chief Medical Consultant

Dr. Sonis is a world-renowned expert in the clinical treatment and research of cancer regimen-related mucosal toxicities. His development of predictive animal models has enabled the investigation of the biological basis of mucositis and has assisted in the development of potential therapies. The results of his studies on the molecular and cellular pathogenesis of mucositis have established the basis of a mechanistic paradigm for mucosal injury, and have provided a number of treatment targets.

Dr. Sonis has obtained degrees from Tufts University and Harvard University and has studied tumor immunology at Oxford University. He holds appointments at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine (Professor of Oral Medicine, Department of Oral Medicine, Infection and Immunity), the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Chief, Division of Oral Medicine, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dentistry), and Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Senior Surgeon) in Boston, MA.

Brynmor A. Watkins, Ph.D. Director of Research

As Biomodels' Director of Research, Dr. Watkins supervises and oversees all of Biomodels preclinical research activities. Dr. Watkins scientific expertise lies in the areas of cell biology, molecular biology, virology, proteomics and assay development.

Dr. Watkins received his Ph.D. in Cell Biology from the University of London, England. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow of the National Institute of Neurological Diseases at the National Institute of Health. Dr. Watkins served as a Visiting Scientist in the Laboratory of Tumor Cell Biology at the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Watkins was Associate Director of Research at Lexigen Pharmaceuticals, and Director of Research for Matritech prior to joining Biomodels.
