Behavior and Neuroscience

Biomodels offers a wide range of behavioral tests for the purposes of testing efficacy and toxicity.  Behavioral testing is useful in examining treatment for neurological disorders. Depending on the disorder, we have a range of tests to use in the evaluation of your treatment including wheel running (fatigue), forced running, forced swim, open field, novel object recognition, three-chamber sociability, passive avoidance, grip strength, rotarod, plantar test (Hargreaves' Method), weight bearing, among others.  Behavioral data is collected using automated systems (whenever possible) and analyzed by trained scientists familiar with the models. As with all of our models, Biomodels actively assists clients to determine which model(s) to use and designs new models as needed.
